Apples and Pears
This game is called Apples and Pears.
The theme of the game jam was two and so I decided to make a two player game featuring two fruits.
This is my first time entering a gamejam so I'm a beginner (please excuse me if I've messed up in anyway!)
I created the game using Unity with the skills I learned by taking part in the Create With Code Live sessions.
The idea of the game is that it's a two player game
Two players take it in turns to shoot either apples or pear at each other
The opposition must then attempt to get the fruit and press fire to send a retaliation fruit back.
If the opposition doesn't manage to press fire in time the fruit hits the opposition and the opposite side gains a point also missing the fruit entirely results in a point to the other side.
Be careful though because not all fruits are Apples and Pears, the player can use the alternative fire button to send a banana . The bananas must be missed - if a banana touches your player then the opposition gain a point. So has your opponent just sent you an apple or pear or have they sent you a banana?
There are also various bonuses lying around as well - these can all do different things - the blue ones tend to be useful where as the black ones not so useful - like for example the black missile will slow your missile (apple/pear) launch speed down where as the blue one will speed it up and so on. Just hope you don't run into a bad bonus whilst trying to get to the apple or pear.
The game is won by the opponent that reaches 22.
This game uses a lot of resources with Creative Commons 0 licences from places like freesounds, free3d, pixabay and freesvg.
There is quite a lot of 2s in the game - there are 2 fruits, it's a 2 player game, and the winning score is 22.
The two fruits were chosen as they are a local symbol in this region in the UK where I ive and when thinking about the two theme I suddenly thought about the two fruits, and the two counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
